Auburn resident Kim Ohman was treated to the performance of her life yesterday by lead singer Johnny Rzeznik and his Goo Goo Dolls at the Mix 104.1 Beach House on Cape Cod.

She won the private concert through the radio station’s contest and was
allowed to invite a handful of family and friends. “It’s like a dream. It’s beyond a dream. This is more than we could ask for,” she said.

Previous winners have enjoyed private concerts by Ed Sheeran and Train. On-air talent Fast Freddy and Gregg Daniels were on hand throughout the afternoon, broadcasting portions live.

“It’s a fun experience, I wish I would have seen my favorite bands up close in an intimate environment,” Rzeznik said.

He and his Dolls, in the midst of their 2014 tour, are in town for a concert today at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion.

The band recently released a new single, “Caught in a Storm,” which they performed at the private concert.

When asked if there are any plans for a new album, Rzeznik replied, “That’s what they tell me. ... I got a call from Warner Bros. and they asked us back for another one ... so I said, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it.’”
