Goo Goo Dolls wine label contest

NewsAugust 6, 2012Calling all designers

Here’s a fun one for all you artistically inclined souls: Noni Bacca Winery has teamed up with the band Goo Goo Dolls via the band’s fansite at absolutegoo.com. The mission, should you choose to accept it, is to design a label for a limited-edition Goo Goo Dolls vintage.

The wine will be in the band’s private collection and auctioned to benefit the youth charity Compass House, with 100% of the proceeds being donated.

There are a couple rules. It must measure 3.33″ x 4″ and, somewhat obviously, must contain the band’s name. You can get all the details on this page.

Now, if you’re wondering how Wilmington’s little winery that could has partnered with mega rockers like the Goo Goo Dolls, the story’s pretty neat. I got on the phone with owner Toni Incorvaia, who filled in the gaps.

“I’m actually friends with the Goo Goo Dolls. They’re from Buffalo, I’m from Buffalo, and rode the school bus with Robby Takac, the founder of the band. He lived right behind me,” she explains. “When they played here at the Azalea Festival I had some souvenir wine bottled for them.”

Contestants are uploading submissions to Noni Bacca’s facebook page, so if you haven’t already ‘liked’ them, swing on by and check it out.
